Cub Scout Poem

This poem was written by my grandfather who was an adult leader. Even though this isn't about venturing as older scouts it is our duty to help guide and show a Christlike example to the younger scouts. I know that a few of us are involved or have siblings in cub scouting. So pass it on.
Blue and Gold
We give thanks to mothers of the den
Who give of themselves time and again
Woman who teach the boys
Who overcome all the noise of a bunch of children on the run
Resembling thunder and lightening all in one
Though they are helped it’s true
We must give our boys their due
Here’s to the crafts they learn
Here’s to the badges they earn
May they remember as they grow old
They once stood proud as the boys of blue and gold
God bless them one and all
Look after them an as they grow tall
God I only hope and pray you bless them night and day
That they may grow to see
A world in peace as it should be
