"We Will Never Forget"
Message from the Boatswain
Dear Perspective Member,
Welcome to the website of Sea Scout Ship 911 otherwise known as the "SSS Remembrance". It is my privilege to serve as Ship 911's founding Boatswain. Ship 911 is an amazing opportunity for you to learn more about God's word while at the same time experiencing the outdoors, having amazing adventures, learning skills, and doing service to others. our main focus is studying God's word. We always open our meetings in prayer and close with a time of devotion and meditation on God's Word. We bring new scouts through a religious study called God and Life which is based on the writings of Paul. Ship 911 has one of the best programs you will ever come across. We have done historical trips such as: West Point, Sandy Hook, Philadelphia, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Liberty State Park, 9/11 Museum, Jockey Hollow, Morristown, and Valley Forge. We have done High Adventure activities such as: COPE, Horse Back Riding, Pistol Shooting, Rock Climbing, Sailing, SCUBA, and Wilderness Survival. A majority of our Ship is trained in CPR/AED and basic First Aid. Sea Scouts in our unit learn basic scout skills such as: knot tying, fire starting, knife and axe safety, lashings, camping, sailing, marlinspike seamanship and cooking. We have camped at Quail Hill Scout Reservation, Resica Falls Scout Reservation, Allamuchy Scout Reservation, Nobebosco Scout Reservation, State Police and National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, United States Military Academy, Broad Creek Scout Reservation, Sandy Hook, and Alpine Scout Reservation. Some of our sea scouts are also active with the Sea Scout Ship Ranger and have done weekend and week long sailing trips with them. We are very active with advancement in scouting. We have awarded 1 Summit Award, 5 Venturing Silver Awards, 5 Venturing Gold Awards, and over 20 Venturing Bronze Awards. We have 4 Eagle Scouts that are active in our Ship as well as one Exploring Achievement Award Recipient. We regularly volunteer to help the Veterans of the US Armed Forces whether it be a clothing drive or helping with a Veterans Remembrance Ceremony. If you are interested in our Ship and would like to join us please visit our How to join page and it will give you more information.
Thank you for visiting!
